Facial fillers are gel-like substances that are injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines, soften creases, or enhance facial contours. These popular rejuvenation treatments can be a cost-effective way to look younger without surgery or downtime.

What are these fillers?

JUVÉDERM® products and BELOTERO® are made of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a naturally-occurring substance already in your skin that helps keep it plump and hydrated. HA fillers are typically soft and gel-like. RADIESSE® contains synthetic microspheres of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) in a water-based gel. CaHA consists of phosphate and calcium, which are naturally produced in the body.

Reasons to consider fillers:

  • Smooth out smile lines, marionette lines, and “parentheses” around mouth
  • Diminish vertical lip lines
  • Plump and enhance the lips
  • Enhance and restore volume to sunken cheeks or temples
  • Smooth out chin creases
  • Improve facial symmetry

Products such as RADIESSE and JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA XC, create lift along the cheek and jawlines, soften facial creases, and smooth skin texture.

Other fillers such as JUVÉDERM® VOLLURE™ XC, JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA™ XC, and BELOTERO® soften more superficial lines like those around the lips, enhance lip size and shape, or alleviate hollowness under the eyes.

FAQ

How long do the results last?

The results are temporary, lasting 6 to 18 months or longer, depending on the product, before the body gradually and naturally absorbs the particles. Typically, filler injections are done annually.

What are the risks?

The risks with dermal fillers are minimal, but you should tell us about your medical history, since certain allergies, conditions, or medications can affect safety or results. For instance, NSAIDS, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and naproxen, as well as blood thinners, can increase bruising.

What can I expect?

Filler procedures can be uncomfortable, but they are not painful. Most fillers are infused with lidocaine to help minimize discomfort during and after treatment.

What is the recovery time?

Although bruising and swelling are typically minimal, we recommend that you choose a date that is more than a week to two weeks before a special event. Jennifer often recommends icing the face following injection to mitigate these common side-effects. Jennifer will always provide you with before and after photos so you can track your progress.

Which products are best for me?

Each product is formulated to have a specific texture, density, and injection depth. At your initial consultation, Jennifer will work with you to understand your goals and develop an ideal treatment plan with the products that are best for you.
