If you've been struggling with waistline issues and find that dieting and exercising alone are insufficient, an abdominoplasty or tummy tuck may be worth considering. An abdominoplasty is an active and inviting surgical procedure that involves the reduction of excess skin or fat deposits from the abdomen and the repositioning of stomach muscles to create a tighter and flatter stomach.

We have designed this physical enhancement process for individuals who seek a more defined waistline. It is also effective in addressing diastasis, the separation of stomach muscles that can occur after pregnancy.

Reasons for considering Abdominoplasty:

  • Dieting and exercise are unable to improve the abdomen area.
  • Excessive skin accumulation after losing weight.
  • Pregnancy-related skin elasticity loss or diastases (loose abdominal muscles).
  • The elimination of unattractive skin and fat deposits and the proper alignment of the abdominal muscles provide a more attractive appearance.

General Procedure

The abdominoplasty procedure typically lasts one to five hours, tailored to your desired outcome and individual physiological factors. We create an incision just above the pubic bone area, extending horizontally across the lower stomach and possibly wrapping around to the back. With precision, we stretch the skin away from the muscle tissue and eliminate any excess skin. We tighten the stomach muscle tissue to achieve a firmly contoured abdomen and a well-defined waist. Finally, we close the incision and reattach the skin. An additional incision around the navel may be necessary to achieve optimal results.

Recovery Process

During recovery, post-operative instructions typically emphasize plenty of rest and limited activity to expedite healing and recovery. It is common to experience swelling, pain, and discomfort as your body recuperates from the surgery. Depending on the procedure(s) involved, our medical team will remove the stitches soon after completing the process. Patients can typically resume regular activities within two weeks. Normal activities usually continue for two weeks. It may take up to a year for your body to fully adapt to its new abdominal configuration. By keeping a healthy diet and engaging in regular exercise, you can enjoy the striking and long-lasting results of the surgery.
